The Junior Section

The club set up a junior section in 2001 with the help of an “Awards for All” grant. Since then our junior section has grown from 20 to over 80 and we are always looking for new juniors to join our club.

Our junior section is aimed at children from age 7 -14, however children playing in regular Saturday games are encouraged to attend our senior training.

The junior section tries to enter as many junior competitions as possible to provide children with playing opportunities. These range from U15's competitions to U9's tournaments. In addition the junior section feeds the older and talented juniors into the Ladies 2nds and Badgers teams.

As a club we aim to keep subscriptions down to a minimum. The junior subscription is only £5 for the season, unless juniors are playing regular Saturday hockey when it rises to £25. All members of the club are covered by the club insurance and will be expected to follow the junior club rules.

Junior Training

Junior Training currently takes place on a Sunday morning from 10am – 11.30am at William Parker School in Daventry. The training dates for this season are:

17 th September 06 -15 th October 06

5 th November 06 – 17 th December 06

14 th January 07 – 4 th February 07

25 th February 07 – 25 th March 07

These sessions are taken by qualified coaches and costs £2.

The club has 8 qualified junior coaches, all of our coaches attend first aid, equity and child protection courses, are police checked and hold their own coaching insurance.
